November in a nutshell

November was almost as busy as October.  There was lots of father-son bonding over cheering on the the Wildcats in football.  We also took a road-trip to Kansas to celebrate Thanksgiving with our friends and family.  Gibson was awesome during the long 9 hour drive.  How did we get so lucky?

This is how he sleeps ALL the time.  Doesn't seem comfortable...

Daddy and son also celebrated Miss Annabelle's 1st birthday in style with purple chops and all.  AB's party  was loads of fun.  We held a parade in my sister's neighborhood.  The Gaides carried a custom 5 foot long Happy Birthday AB banner walking in front of the Fireman Dan's SUV with the lights and siren going.  They were followed by the 2 oldest Berger boys riding their tricycles throwing candy to the neighbors and blowing birthday horns.  Then comes Lane driving his John Deer tractor with Gibson riding on it's trailer.  Lane was also blowing horns and throwing out candy (we had to tell him to keep his eyes on the road about a million times).  Last but certainly not least, AB and Andrew (youngest Berger boy) were being pulled in a wagon by my sister and Claire.  All the boys, including the adults, had their faces painted.  We were a sight to see!  My sister's whole block came out to watch the parade.  It really was a touching celebration.  You can see it all on video on my sister's blog (thebutlerchronicles.blogspot.com).  You may have to search for it; the title is "I saw God today".

Happy 1st Birthday sweet Annabelle!

Watching the KSU/A&M game intensely in the 4th OT.

We started off the Kansas trip by going to Jerod's hometown, Beloit, to visit our good friends that we hadn't seen since the wedding and introduce Gibson to them.  We were so lucky to be invited to stay at Scott and MaryJane Chapman's beautiful house.  The Stillwells and Adams came over with their little stinkers and MJ cooked us all dinner.  Gibson was so excited to meet everyone, especially Aunt MJ and Scott.  We miss them all so much!

Gibson didn't want to leave MJ.

Finally, we spent a few days at the Grandparents house.  Mommy and Daddy got to relax while Gibson had a ball playing with them and his Uncle Justin.  Thanksgiving lunch was delicious!  We also celebrated Christmas while we were there and Gibson got spoiled.  As much as we don't like to play favorites, Gibson's favorite present was from his Grandma and Grandpa Waggoner.  It is a red leather rocking chair that Frank got for his 2nd Christmas and passed down to Jerod for his 1st Christmas.  We all love it!

Since we were only 20 minutes away from my best friend Kylee, we went to their house for dinner one night.  Her little ones are getting so big.  I feel like it was just yesterday when Lincoln was a baby.  Now he's as big as Saelyn!

That's one big boy!

A LOT of catching up to do

I have to apologize to all of you for my 3 month hiatus; as Gibson get's older and more active, I get worn out and lazy when it comes to posting pictures.  I promise to do at least one post a month from here on out. Let's get started with the last 3 crazy months starting with October...

Towards the end of October, Jerod, Gibson and I took a road trip to Rogers to visit Shoshie and Poppa D for a whole week.  It was the most beautiful drive with all the trees starting to change color.  The weather was perfect, the food was great and we all had an amazing time.

While in NW Arkansas, we visited Wild Wilderness Drive-Through Safari in Gentry, AR.  It was awesome seeing all the animals in their "natural" habitat and up close and personal.  I put some of my photography skills to work.  The pictures below don't due these animals any justice but I tried...

Blonde Buffalo

Look who slept entirely through his first zoo experience?

The Zebras were my favorite.

Since Kansas City is only a 3 1/2 hour drive from Rogers, we also took a trip their to introduce Gibson to his Great Grandparents and to meet a couple of my friends.

You can tell where Gibson gets his beautiful blue eyes.

We also took a trip to Bentonville to visit Jerod's childhood friend, Jake and his beautiful family.

Sweet little Eden.

Last but certainly not least, we celebrated Halloween at Shoshie's house.  No trick or treating this year but we just HAD to get this costume.

Let's rock, everybody, let's rock. Everybody in the whole cell block was dancing on the Jailhouse Rock.
