Jerod, Gibson and I packed up our stuff and headed to Hot Springs, AR for Labor Day weekend. It took us about 8 hours there and Gibson was AWESOME! I seriously don't know how we got blessed with such a perfect baby. The first stop was at Shoshi (my mom) and Poppa D's lake house near lake Ouachita. We had a wonderful dinner with them and fish fry for lunch the next day. I think we ate more at their house than we do at a typical Thanksgiving feast.

Next stop, Grandpa Bruce's beautiful lake house on Lake Hamilton. We had great time visiting with Grandpa and Randy and Elizabeth (my Godparents). We arrived Thursday and stayed until Monday. I was worried that Gibson would be thrown off his "schedule" and not sleep well since he wasn't in his crib. Gibson was angel the whole time. I was pleasantly surprised with how much I was able to relax and enjoy myself. My Grandmother Jonnell, Aunt Deana, Roy, Mitchell, Brooke and Cash all came up on Saturday to meet Gibson. Gibson LOVED his great-grandma and quit fussing whenever she picked him up. On Sunday we followed tradition and played a few game of croquet at the Elrod's house (you can't go to Hot Springs and not play a couple of games of croquet). Randy, Jerod and I all won one game. We, of course, ate too much but had a good time doing it.

Jerod and I spent our 1st wedding anniversary driving 8 hours back to Austin. We were too tired to do anything when we got home so we ended up having a fantastic romantic dinner by ordering Pizza Hut and opening our honeymoon souvenir, a small bottle of Mumm Napa spakling wine.
